Larlebee

How it works

From one person to the whole family.

You start the tree, your relatives join and fill in what they know, and the family grows it together. Here is how it goes.

  1. Start your family’s tree

Sign in with your phone number and a code sent by text message. No password to remember. Add yourself, your parents and your grandparents, which takes about a minute. Or start further back, from an ancestor.

  2. Send the link to your family

Share your family's invite link in your family WhatsApp group. It shows a proper preview with your family's name. When a relative opens it, Larlebee asks “Is this you?” so they can claim their own place on the tree instead of being added twice.

  3. Fill the gaps together

The Family Index shows what your family knows and what is still missing. Questions go to the relative most likely to know the answer, and anyone can fill in a missing birthday or hometown. Every change is recorded and can be undone.

  4. Bring in the elders and the children

A relative sets up an elder's or a child's phone by showing a QR code or a 6-digit code. No email, number or password needed. Elders get a simpler screen with only the important notifications. Then sit with them and record their stories and praise poetry in their own voice.

  5. Live family life in one place

Plan the reunion and see who is coming. Record contributions openly. Keep the photos and ask who is in the old ones. Send announcements and voice notes. Share a memorial or wedding with friends through a guest link.

Families joined by marriage

Two families, linked, each still its own.

When people from two families marry, their trees connect. Each family keeps its own tree, its own photos and its own conversations. What the two families share is the marriage itself and each other's heritage: hometowns, languages and customs.

Your tree stays yours

Each family decides who joins it and keeps its own records. A marriage opens a door between two families. It doesn't merge them.

See where you meet

See the families you are connected to through marriage, and how you are related to the people in them.

Privacy person by person

Anyone can choose who sees their contact details, and hide themselves from specific relatives altogether.

On any phone

Built for the phones families actually have.

No app store needed

Open larlebee.com in the phone's browser and add it to the home screen. It opens like an app. Android and iPhone apps follow in January 2027.

Data saver

Turn on data saver and Larlebee shows initials instead of downloading photos, so it stays light on expensive mobile data.

Notifications that matter

Get told about messages, announcements and questions for you. Elders can choose to hear only the important things.

Start with you, your parents and your grandparents.

It takes about a minute. Then send the link to your family group and let everyone fill in what they know.
